Born in Columbus, Ohio, Jerrold Launer was influenced by music and sound before he took his first steps. As the youngest member of a musical family that performed professionally, Jerrold learned at an early age the ins and outs of live performance. As older siblings left the group, Jerrold got the opportunity to learn new instruments. By age fifteen, Jerrold had joined his father’s jazz trio and was a member of the Musicians’ Union as a bass player and drummer.

Jerrold taught music K-12 for several years after receiving his Bachelors degree in music education from Capital University. Still feeling the need for further musical expression, he subsequently enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in both Music Production and Engineering as well as Music Synthesis.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 1996, Jerrold has provided both music production and audio post services for hundreds of clients in the record and tv/film industries and has served as a voting member for both the Grammys and the Emmys.

Some of his clients include Warner Bros., Disney, ABC, PBS, CBS, Fox, E!, TLC, VH1, A&E, and The History Channel. Jerrold has also continued teaching, instructing courses for UCLA Extension and the Los Angeles Recording School. Jerrold lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Heidi, and their three children.
